Principal's Message

Dear Mustang Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. As we begin the start of another school year, I am excited to welcome our new and returning Mustangs. The start of the school year is always an exciting time. We have a lot of new things planned for this upcoming school year. Our district has moved to a one-to-one computer model for all students. This year students will be assigned a Chromebook. As the district moves away from physical textbooks and more to an online format, we will be doing away with lockers. Over the summer we have added even more VMS branding. We added VMS signs in our hallways and put up championship banners in our gymnasium.

At VMS, I believe in a strong school family. This Includes not only students and staff, but also our students' families and community members. We are always seeking ways to add dedicated volunteers on our campus. There are many opportunities for you to contribute by joining our VMS PTO, Site Council, or volunteering your time. Some ways you can volunteer your time is by signing up for “Love our schools day” which is held annually in the fall. In addition to this event, we are always looking for support with lunch duty and academic tutoring. If this is something you are interested in, please reach out to me and we can discuss further how you can help support our students at VMS. I truly believe when we are all supporting our students nothing can stop their success.

Moving forward, please be on the lookout for messages from your child’s teacher, the school, and myself. This will keep you updated and informed on what's happening at Verrado Middle. As our teachers prepare for the upcoming school year, please take time to review the student handbook with your child as this has important information regarding expectations and policies. If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out.  I look forward to working with all the wonderful students, parents, staff and members of the community to make this year a success.

Go Mustangs!
